5 Fun Ways To Keep Your Children's Teeth Healthy

Posted on

Getting your children to be excited about brushing their teeth every morning and night is not easy. In fact, it can be like pulling teeth. Of course, you want to actually avoid real teeth pulling by keeping your children's teeth healthy. Here are five fun ways to do this:

  1. Change the Toothpaste and Toothbrush: The first thing you should be doing is changing the toothpaste and toothbrush regularly. This way, they are excited to use something new. You can also change flavors of the toothpaste a bit too if you find that they don't like the mint flavor or whatever flavor you have been using. Bubblegum is a good flavor to consider if your child is sensitive to stronger tasting toothpaste. You can also purchase a toothpaste or toothbrush that has your child's favorite cartoon character on the packaging. Or, better yet, take your child to the store every time you have to stock up on toothpaste and toothbrushes and let them choose the one they like best.
  2. Brush With Your Child: When you brush your teeth in the morning and at night, consider brushing with your child. This way, you can make it fun for them by singing a song or making it a contest to see who can brush the fastest. Whatever you choose, make it fun and exciting instead of like a chore that they won't want to do.
  3. Consider Rewards: If it's really difficult to get your children to brush their teeth, consider providing rewards. Every time they brush their teeth, you can put a sticker on a chart, for example, and if the chart is full by the end of the week, they can get a new toy or pick out their favorite dessert to eat over the weekend.
  4. Consider an Electric Toothbrush: There are plenty of kid electric toothbrushes that not only have their favorite characters on them, but also play music to help encourage them to brush their teeth until the song is over. Many kids prefer electric toothbrushes, as well because they are easier to brush their teeth with and reach more areas, which is especially important if your child has no motivation to brush their teeth.

When you know these four ways to make it fun for your children to brush their teeth, you can be sure that you are encouraging your children to keep their teeth healthy in the best way possible. For more tips and information, you can visit Lucky Kids Dental.
