A Step By Step Guide On How To Remove Stains On Teeth Using Strawberry And Baking Soda

Posted on

Stained teeth can send the wrong message to people when you smile. Stained teeth will leave them with the impression that you don't properly clean your teeth. Stains caused by coffee or smoking will remain on the teeth until they are cleaned off with enough acids to break down the stain. There are a number of natural ways to remove the stains using items that you can purchase at a local grocery store, before you have to pay to have the stains professionally removed. Here is a step-by-step process on how to remove stains using strawberries and baking soda.

1 – Start by cutting up two large strawberries into small pieces. Cut off the leaves or any parts of the berry that you would not eat. Make sure that the pieces are cut up small enough that you can fit them in a small bowl.

2 – Take a fork and mash the berries up inside the bowl into a paste. Make sure that there are not chunks remaining and that the strawberries are mashed up consistently throughout.

3 – Take a spoonful of baking soda and mix it into the bowl with the strawberries until it is mixed throughout. Mix the two together for a couple minutes to make sure that the baking soda is spread throughout.

4 – Take the baking soda and strawberry mixture and then apply it to a toothbrush like you would toothpaste. Begin brushing your teeth in a circular motion using the mixture and make sure that you pay close attention to the stained areas that you want removed.

5 – Let the berry and baking soda mixture soak into the teeth for three to five minutes to allow the acids to break down the stains on the teeth. During this time the natural acids will break down the stain and separate it from the tooth so that it will come off when you brush.

6 – Rinse out your mouth with mouthwash to get rid of the baking soda and strawberries that might have stuck to your teeth. Make sure to take a second to gargle with the mouthwash to completely clean out your mouth.

If you follow the steps outlined above and it does not clean off the stains on your teeth then you will need to consult a cosmetic dentist. A cosmetic dentist from a company like Ginger Scoggins DDS will be able to examine the stains and then, if necessary, use a medical-grade cleaner to bleach the teeth back to a natural white color.
